Benefits Specialist

We currently have an opportunity for a Benefits Specialist, at our Des Plaines, IL corporate headquarters.  Overall responsibilities for this role are to assist in the daily administration of employee benefit programs including communication with employees and vendors to address and resolve issues, process monthly billing related to benefit plans and maintain employee benefits records.  Specific responsibilities of the Benefits Specialist include:

  • Participate in the day-to-day administration of all employee benefits plans
  • Assist employees and field HR team members with the resolution of questions or issues regarding benefit plans including but not limited to enrollment, eligibility, claims, payroll deductions, etc. through verbal and written communications with internal departments and outside vendors
  • Run and distribute various benefit related data reports from the HR system
  • Enter employee data into the HR system
  • Update and maintain employee benefits information with outside vendors
  • Process monthly vendor bills
  • Process monthly benefits premium bills
  • Participate in the annual open enrollment process for the health and welfare plans
  • Administer the tuition reimbursement program
  • Assist in the creation of benefits related documentation, communications and presentations

Candidates selected to interview must meet the following minimum requirements for consideration for this position:

  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 1-2 years professional experience in benefits administration or human resources
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees with a strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One 8.12 a plus

The salary is commensurate with experience.
