We currently have an opportunity for a Transportation Supply Chain Analyst in our Transportation Center at our Des Plaines, IL corporate headquarters. Specific responsibilities include:

• Evaluate and select carriers to best serve customer needs
• Negotiate carrier rates, clarifying performance expectations throughout the negotiation process
• Monitor carrier performance, communicate performance feedback to carriers, and identify and manage opportunities for improved effectiveness
• Provide input for RFI’s / RFP’s
• Perform various analyses detailing cost, pricing, and profitability levels and identify opportunities for growth, effectiveness, and profitability for key accounts
• Routinely analyze current and prospective carriers and their rates, translating this information into cost structures for presentation to current and prospective customers
• Responsible for establishing various service reports for customers, which may include data derived from DSC’s systems and/or carrier’s systems
• Manage specific project assignments as directed
• Participate in carrier and customer meetings

• Minimum three years job-relevant experience required
• Bachelors degree with specialization in Logistics, Transportation or Supply Chain Management required
• Expert level in Microsoft Excel required, proficiency in Microsoft Access preferred, experience with I2 transportation tool preferred
• Carrier contract experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Strong customer relation skills
• Strong analytical skills and demonstrated understanding of Supply Chain operations
• General understanding of warehousing, inventory, order fulfillment, and customer service functions
• Detail-oriented and demonstrated logical thought process
• Experience with International Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers, as well as an advanced understanding of the import/export supply chain and international compliance arenas preferred
