Supplier Diversity

A certified woman-owned business with an established infrastructure and customer base of Fortune 500 companies, DSC applies over 45 years of logistics and supply chain management experience to help companies achieve their overall business goals AND their Supplier Diversity goals.

At DSC, we know that as large companies increase their focus on reflecting the diverse nature of employees and customers, they’re developing products for more diverse customer tastes and cultures and they’re recruiting and adapting the work environment to accommodate more cultures. They’re also implementing Supplier Diversity Programs that establish targets, usually defined in terms of procurement spending, for women- and minority-owned suppliers.

Although DSC has been woman-owned for 10 years, we only recently became WBENC Certified as a woman-owned business, completing this process at the request of one of our customers. DSC serves many Fortune 500 companies, including Kellogg, Philip Morris USA and Cardinal Health. Supplier diversity is an important part of the culture of these organizations, and it was important for DSC to become WBENC Certified in order to provide incremental value and assist our customers in achieving their supplier diversity objectives.

Our nationwide network with 30 locations means that opportunities are not limited to a specific region. Because DSC’s annual contract values are substantial, ranging from $2m to $40m, there is a significant impact on our customers’ Supplier Diversity programs. For example, DSC is Kellogg’s #1 WBE Supplier and #2 Diverse Supplier. In addition to assisting our customers with their Tier 1 diversity programs, we are also proactive in working with our customers on their Tier 2 diversity programs for large retailers such as Wal-Mart.
