To strengthen and expand efforts in the area of sustainability, DSC has named David Kahlow, director of customer care, to the additional position of director of sustainability.
In this role, Kahlow provides leadership for DSC's sustainability steering committee which focuses on research, selection, coordination and measurement of the effectiveness of the company's sustainability initiatives.
"As the supply chain partner to leading companies in a variety of industries, DSC manages a nationwide network of Logistics Centers and has instituted a variety of 'green' programs and practices over the past decade," said Kahlow.
"Some of these include recycling and high-efficiency lighting. The company also was accepted in the SmartWaySM

We have expanded our efficient building management practices, and are working closely with our supply chain partners to design supply chains that put buildings in the right places to minimize inventory and transportation cost, in addition to intercompany initiatives that benefit the environment and our respective business plans."
